Flying to Israel
All flights into and out of Israel are subject to Israel security procedures. You will each have a “security interview” prior to luggage check-in.  You must confirm that you packed your own suitcase and that you are not carrying any unidentified packages.  You will present your e-tickets and passports at this time.  When flying to Israel a copy of your electronic ticket is required for check-in so please print and bring a copy with you and keep it handy for your return flight at the trip’s conclusion.

Currency
If you have an ATM card, this is the best way to change dollars to Israeli currency, the shekel.  The bank machines offer the best rate exchange and do not charge a commission. Credit cards are accepted in nearly every store.

Health
No special health regulations are required for U.S. citizens traveling to Israel. If you have any medical problems or you are taking any special medications, we suggest that you see your physician prior to departure.  Medicines and other medical supplies should be carefully labeled and stored in your CARRY-ON luggage.

Your exciting arrival!
You will land at the state-of-the-art airport terminal at Ben Gurion, Tel Aviv.  At passport control you will receive a small document that must be presented when you depart from Israel.  Don’t lose it!

Weather & Clothing
The desert can get quite hot as you can imagine however at night the temperature can drop drastically, especially in Jerusalem. The key to fashion in Israel is CASUAL! When you book your trip and receive your itinerary you will be notified of any special dress codes but in general, pack light and comfortable with a jacket for the night time! Don't forget your sneakers!

Meals
Fabulous Israeli buffet breakfasts are included daily as part of your tour: eggs, fruit, breads, cereals, cheeses, vegetables, salads, and many other delectable dishes. For lunches “on your own” while touring, you will be directed to appropriate self-service eateries along the way, where you may choose from a variety of items. For lunches/ dinners not included, you are encouraged to try local restaurants.  Israel offers a wide variation of restaurants specializing in international cuisine with a touch of Middle-Eastern flavor. We’ve enclosed our list of favorites!

Dialogues
Our signature program component is the DIALOGUE- the opportunity to meet ‘real’ Israelis in order to understand the country from more-than a tourist perspective.  It is always nice to consider bringing a small token for those you may meet for the DIALOGUES. Consult your itinerary for these opportunities!
